Maxima is a newly-formed Swedish duo that mixes improvisation with indie, ambient, house, and beat music. 

The pianist Max Agnas and the multi-instrumentalist Ima Baeza Bilgin both have a jazz background and have long been active in the acoustic world. Now, they want to combine what they love about improvisation with everything they love about other genres. Synthesizers, drum machines, and effect pedals blend with airy vocals, string instruments, and lively drums.

Max Agnas has released music with his jazz trio, his solo project, and has toured in Europe and Brazil with the portuguese singer Salvador Sobral. He has been touring with the artist and author Annika Norlin in Sweden and has composed music for a sinfonietta. 

Ima Baeza Bilgin performs all around Europe with artists like Veronica Maggio, Sara Parkman and Stuzzi. She has released her own music with her jazz band Cosmic Express Quintet and has played solo ambient freely improvisation concerts. 

The combination of expressive and spontaneous musicians, experimenting with a blend of different genres makes Maxima an unique band in today's music scene.
